You may join the Judiciary during the Student Government Annual Recruitment (SGAR) Week or whenever the Judiciary advertises for specific committee memberships. What is the Legal and Judicial Training Program?
The Legal and Judicial Training Program is the mandatory training program for Counsel Officer Trainees and Magistrate Trainees. The Legal and Judicial Training Program is the comprehensive, year-long training program that provides Magistrate Trainees and Counsel Officer Trainees the necessary skills and knowledge to critically examine the law and its jurisprudence in order for them to effectively execute their respective duties and responsibilities. It aims to ensure that future Magistrates and COs are well equipped and capable of performing their duties towards the administration of justice as an officer of the Court.
Can I join more than one (1) committee?
Yes, the applicant may be accepted in any or two of his or her committee choices, provided: that the applicant will not end up in the Judicial Administration and the Counsel Officers Committee, the Counsel Officers and the Student Advisers Committee or the Judicial Administration and Student Advisers Committee.
No member of the Judiciary shall be allowed to hold more than two positions or offices in the Judiciary. Any member who is holding office or position in two committees shall report to both committee directors, for purposes of organization.
What is a grievance?
Grievance refers to any controversy between a student as the aggrieved party and a member of the academic community as respondent that may be the cause of a complaint. For more information, refer to the Student Services page.
